***This is just me talking about what worked for me. I’m in no way an expert, I’m still a newbie!*** I think it’s important to follow the rede if you’re looking into any kind of witchcraft, and educate yourself. Google is an amazing FREE resource! Video responses welcome

im just starting out and i was wondering what is the best first spell to do ?x
for me, i just never felt comfortable with christianity; it never gave me peace of mind. and i felt a really strong spiritual pull to Wicca. i don’t know why but i feel that the goddess and god asked for me. i know it sounds cheesy but it was something about it that drew me to it. and i love it; i absolutly love it. blessed be from one newbie to another. lol. )O(

I totally agree that networking and expanding your “circle” is incredibly beneficial to people who are just starting out. It can be a really lonely road for a solitary, and especially if you’re the only person you know who is Wiccan/Pagan. There’s so much misinformation and misconceptions, so to know that you have friends that you can lean on (even from far away), is sooo helpful. Great suggestions all the way around! Duck is handsome w/ his green eyes. Why did you call him Duck? I’m not Wiccan so no dedication. I’m drawn to it and use many elements now that I know morem but also am drawn to many other things and I just do what I want. I always have. Its just what works for me. Like you, I read a lot and try many different things and I do what I’m drawn to and toss the rest.

Continued–When you first start its nerve wracking enough and you are taking in so much information and you want it to all be so perfect and have everything but you need to learn that it doesn’t matter the tools you have or the money you spend on it, it’s your energy and the God and Goddess will hear you even without spending hundreds of dollars on stuff.

I started when I was 12 (now being 21) and really researched online a lot about it. I then bought my first book which was Wicca:A guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham and this book to this day has been helpful to me. Everything about Wicca just clicked with me. I practiced when I could and with what I had, not buying special tools at first. I learned to write spells/rituals so that I could use what I had or do something else to make up for it.
Good advice. It’s important to get as much information as possible before making decisions.

In my official year and a day and the biggest thing I am learning is to feel out my own natural rhythms and trust them even when they are small. We all have a natural affinity for certain techniques and practices. We can to use this time to give ourselves permission to be unique and true to ourselves. I think that’s why we worry about coming out because we know we aren’t living true to ourselves, many times, in the first place. Just my opinion!!! Glad your friend is open to the idea!
